One Thing I Know
Pour out your unfailing love on those who love you;
give justice to those with honest hearts.
Don’t let the proud trample me
or the wicked push me around.
Look! Those who do evil have fallen!
They are thrown down, never to rise again. – Psalm 36: 10-12 (NLT)
Every day, I run into people who struggle with feeling loved, with feeling they are good enough, with feeling that God really doesn’t care about what is going on in their lives. I see these people – every time I look in the mirror.
Unless I lived in a mountain cabin with no internet, cell phone, and television and lived entirely off the land and did not require any interaction with people in stores or street corners, there would be input into my life that questioned, berated and caused doubt in my worth. There are more people ranting and raving at others than are encouraging and uplifting others.
I must spend time every day with God. It is only my Creator, the Great I AM, the LORD Almighty who can honestly and truly speak into my life. God is holy. God cannot lie. God cannot manipulate. Only God is worthy of my absolute trust. Only God knows me. He alone knows my heart, my thoughts. There is nothing that I can hide or gloss over with God. There is nothing anyone else, including Satan the Accuser, who can tell God anything I am not and have God believe that it is true! God knows me!
Even when I am angry with God, my Father knows my emotions to be a reaction of anger and hurt, and not a description of my true relationship with Him. God sees our relationship in long – eternal – terms. He holds our relationship commitment when my feeble limbs are weakening.
My friends, in these days of trials, let us not neglect our time with God. Protect that time and give #1 priority to that time because from that choice our entire life – family, mental attitude, spiritual and physical health – all of it will grow and bring abundance in our lives. Abundance that cannot be destroyed in this world and will store up treasures for us forever in heaven.
I need You more, more than yesterday.
I need You, Lord, more than words can say.
I need You more, than ever before.
I need You, Lord.
I need You, Lord.
More than the air I breathe.
More than the song I sing.
More than the next heartbeat, more than anything.
And, Lord, as time goes by, I’ll be by Your side.
‘Cause I never want to go back to my old life.
I need You more, more than yesterday.
I need You, Lord, more than words can say.
I need You more, than ever before.
I need You, Lord.
I need You, Lord.
Right here in Your presence is where I belong.
Now my broken heart has finally found a home.
And I’ll never be alone. – Lindell Cooley and Bruce Haynes, on YouTube
Thank you friend. True word.
