I’m Clean!

There’s nothing too dirty that You can’t make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean.
There’s nothing too dirty that You can’t make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean. – Natalie Grant, “Clean” (2015)

It’s Monday. It’s Holy Week. Yesterday, maybe like many of you, I sat in a church and saw children come into the church waving palm branches, looking like they had not a clue as to what they were doing or why. They were cute! And now it is Monday. Let’s make this Monday different than the previous ones!

Jesus said:
God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” – John 3:17 (NLT)

I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you have known me, you will also know my Father. From now on you know him and have seen him.” – John 14:6-7 (ISV)

What is keeping you from embracing Holy Week and knowing that no matter what, no matter what is going on in your life, your life is abundant, and is overflowing with Jesus Christ? My friend and fellow traveler in this journey of life, there is nothing that Jesus has not already overcome on that Cross on Golgotha that He cannot wash out of your life and set your feet back on His path.

I see shattered
You see whole
I see broken
But You see beautiful
And You’re helping me to believe
You’re restoring me piece by piece
– Natalie Grant

If I believe the enemy’s lie that there is something I have done that cannot be forgiven by God, then how can He really be God? Jesus said that He came because God sent Him to be the blood sacrifice that would wash His children clean, make them holy just as He is holy. If Jesus, God-in-the-flesh, is not the perfect sacrifice which can restore me, make me clean, then there is no sacrifice which can. I believe that God cannot lie so I believe that Jesus speaks only Truth.

Stop now. Go to YouTube and follow this link or type in “Clean, Natalie Grant” and just listen to these words. It is a wonderful poem; a wonderful song. Then just tell Jesus whatever it is that is coming between you and God and ask Him to wash it away! Wash your spirit until there is nothing left – and you know that Father God is holding you! It is Monday. It is Holy Week. And you are clean!

Clean

I see shattered
You see whole
I see broken
But You see beautiful
And You’re helping me to believe
You’re restoring me piece by piece

There’s nothing too dirty that You can’t make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean.
There’s nothing too dirty that You can’t make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean.

What was dead now lives again
My heart’s beating, beating inside my chest
Oh I’m coming alive with joy and destiny
Cause You’re restoring me piece by piece

There’s nothing too dirty that You can’t make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean.
There’s nothing too dirty that You can’t make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean.

Washed in the blood of Your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
My dirty rags are purified
I am clean
